Escapes: The Allure of Amangiri

Are you looking for a last-minute President’s Day getaway? My most recent trip to the Amangiri Resort could be your next remote hideaway, and I’ve got all the details here for you!

TRAVEL TIME:
About a four-hour flight from Miami to Phoenix. Four-hour drive to Amangiri Resort (which is located on the border of Arizona and Utah—a town called Paige). You can fly straight into Paige Airport if you’re flying private, or charter a plane from Phoenix. We chose to split the drive, and spend a few days doing Shamanic healing in Sedona, Az.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
The best part of this trip is the views. If you choose to drive from Phoenix to Amangiri, like we did, you will experience the most incredible drive from the deserts of Arizona into the luminous canyons of the American Southwest. The second best part is, duh—the resort, which is surrounded by thousands of square miles of untouched scenery. You’re pretty much in the middle of nowhere and TOTALLY OKAY with it. The hotel embraces the area’s raw aesthetic—true design inspo. Each suite has an outdoor lounge and fireplace with desert views where you can catch both sunrise and sunset. Perfect spot to share a cup of coffee or mulled wine with your love. The spacious clean lines and natural materials make each corner of this resort a picture perfect moment. Don’t forget your cameras!
Amangiri offers a journey of reawakening through wellness. The spa rituals incorporate Navajo traditions and ingredients as they push you to reconnect to the local environment. You can both rejuvenate the body and nurture the soul by joining their guided mindfulness practices like meditation, yoga, and physical activity.
F&B is on point! The menu is filled with Native American cooking traditions, but they are happy to accommodate to any eating style—trust me. The destination is tranquil, peaceful, and breathtaking. Definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to!

DON’T MISS:
While the options for outdoor activities are endless, you HAVE to go visit Antelope and Rattlesnake Canyon. This is where you take that picture that you see on Instagram. Well, it’s even more beautiful in person. The property is full of hiking trails but you MUST hike to Horseshoe Blend—INSANE. If you love horses, you can horseback ride into the sunset and have a picnic outside. Ahhh, cant wait to go back!

With love always,
Gigi
